The Port of Blyth is the operating division of Blyth Harbour Commission, a modern Trust Port handling up to 2 million tonnes of cargo each year and operated for the benefit of all stakeholders. Established in 1882 it is one of the UK’s largest Trust Ports, contributing significantly to trade in the North East of England and supporting thousands of jobs in the region.
With particular expertise in the offshore energy, project cargo, container, dry bulk and break bulk sectors, Port of Blyth is Northumberland’s international gateway and a leading UK offshore energy support base. Following a fantastic year, which saw turnover grow by 15% reaching a 140-year high of £25.5m and profits increase by two thirds to £2.1m the Port has been shortlisted for the coveted Company of the Year title in the Northumberland and Tyneside section.
Transped
Transped is the international logistics division of Blyth Harbour Commission based in Port of Blyth but operating globally. A wholly owned subsidiary of the Port, Transped offer a full logistics, storage and forwarding service to clients – this includes a short sea container service provided through a twice weekly container service from Holland. Additional services include import/export packing, warehousing, distribution and storage as well as worldwide forwarding.
2021 was a record year for Transped, achieving the highest volume of containers shipped in its history , an exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Operations manager to join this successful Port and drive future growth for Transped.
